Dia De Los Muertos

In Mexican culture 'Dia De Los Muertos' (Day Of The Dead) plays a major role every year between the 1st - 3rd of November. Everybody
reminisces together over there loved ones whom past away and the dead. Throughout my childhood in a small village of Mexico I was
brought up in we all attended to pay our respects leaving treasures such as food, drink, sugar skulls, photographs and flowers on an alter/
shrine in our homes. Its not a moment to be sad but a glorious celebration acknowledging there existent and the mark they left in our lives.
Having a good laugh together, eating, drinking as a community at home or by there graves knowing we will be joining them one day. Its
probably why Mexican are not scared of death since the day your born you celebrate and taught about death. Following my Mexican roots I
naturally been meaning to create a few pieces in responce to this holiday.

I created 3 ink pieces, 9 mixed media pieces on wood all various shape and sizes. Here are the 3 ink pieces and will post the 9 mixed media
pieces once I have photographed them at the studio.
